Pictoplasma

Pictoplasma at Space4 Gallery, Peterborough.”The Space4 Gallery will be transformed by an army of life-sized animated characters in our new exhibition called ‘Characters at War’ by Pictoplasma. The exhibition of cardboard cut-outs runs from Saturday 5 August to Sunday 29 October and gives visitors the opportunity to meet some familiar faces as well some weird and wacky newcomers to the world of character art.”

The characters, animations and a special hand drawn walk through colouring-in book (huge wall of visual goodness for all to colour in) made by our favourite duo Jon Burgerman and Sune Ehlers, will be on display from the 5th August.

Doodling workshops will also take place during September – details soon!

The Elements of Colourful Surroundings

“The exhibition bursts of colourful / linear, documental / surreal, expressive, psychedelic images that are full of irony, sarcasm and humour, offering the viewer a different way to see the surroundings and its inhabitants.”

Sounds pretty… The Elements of Colourful Surroundings opens this Wednesday with a private view (6PM – 9PM) and features the illustrative workings of Stevie Gee, Keith Watts, Andrea Morgan and Jon Burgerman.

The exhibition runs until September 8th (opening times: Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm). The Novas Gallery is located at: 73-81 Southwark Bridge Road, London SE1 0NQ

Check www.novas.org for more info.

MAD BARBARIANS – Hack Man

Hack Man is a new toy designed by Mad Barbarians. The character is called Hack Man. His name is derived from the rough translation of the Japanese word for vomit “Haku”.

Lots of things make this little fella haku, whether it be a ride on the bus, naughty words or too much hardcore rock music.

Released by YUJIN, expected drop date is mid-August, he’ll be a collectible capsule toy which doubles up as a mobile phone dangly thing.

Printed on high quality gildan t-shirts at £18UK/£21 int’. There is also the great option to customise your shirt in your choice of text and shirt colour. Available in sizes S-XL.Check them out at www.playdontplay.com

Kennmunk’s 20″

Yep that’s right, our second favourite Danish export (Bacon being the other) has created this incredible 20″ dunny custom. By removing a slice from the middle of the dunny head Kenn has altered the ears and nose, making them more prominant like a poor dead animal’s skull and antlors.

Although it seems quite a simple piece, it’s the execution of the work that really makes this so successful.

See this in 20″ Dunnyshow in Copenhagen.
