NYCC: Pics from the Show

As you all know, New York Comic Con is this weekend.  Among the hundreds of comic book vendors, video game publishers, role playing enthusiasts, and cosplay models, less than a dozen vinyl toy vendors set up shop.  They make up for their lack of numbers with some awesome new pieces, previews, and the thrill of having to walk only a few meters to see them all.  Here’s the first batch of new and up-coming toys from the show.  I know I didn’t manage to snap a picture of everything, so consider this a preview until I make it back to the con on Sunday.

Biskup Custom

Tim Biskup has his own booth at the show, and is showing off his new Kaiju style pieces, including this hand-painted custom version (above).  You can see the normal colorway if you click Read More…

MPH

My Plastic Heart’s had something old and something new on display: Custom Squbes by Brent Nolasco, exclusive Red and White MoneyGrip, and  the MPH exclusive  Twilight and Wedding  MAD*Ls

Click Read More to see the goods from: Tristan Eaton, lots of new stuff from Keith Poon & ToyCube, Andrew Bell (who wouldn’t tell me what his next toy might be, but promised a re-vamped web store soon), JLed, Tim Biskup, London Police, and Brendan Monroe

The concept is simple – transform a piece of cardboard no larger than twelve inches on any side into a piece of art. The cardboard is a fitting medium for the cause since it is currently the primary source of warmth and shelter for our world’s homeless. Featuring around 400 artists, GimmeShelter was a huge show and a great success.
