Wondering what to do with yourself on the 19th August? Well why not pop down to Phil Corbett‘s new solo show Scary Mary’s Hairy Beary Fairy Tales! Featuring Mr Corbett’s unique take on the wierd and wonderful world of fairy tales, this promises to be one fun and colourful show!
S.P.U.D from Das Mo x Patch Together
Munich based artist Das Mo, known for his hand made DIY resin ‘Mates’ and ‘Monster Mates’, has been hard at work with toy producers Patch Together (Yeti, Skonk, FreakBeast) to produce his latest resin, the S.P.U.D.
Bucking the recent trend of complicated and highly detailed toys, Das Mo is taking it back to basics – pure, simple and appealing design, and it works! S.P.U.D is set to be released as a smaller 3cm keychain/zipperpull set as well as a larger, more collectable 6″ version.
But, as is the PT way, before the beautiful S.P.U.Ds can come to life and be found sitting elegantly on your shelf or bookcase PT need to receive the minimum amount of orders from stockists. Available in both regular and your own exclusive colourways, if you’re a shop interested in stocking these then waste no time in contacting PT and order yours now! Or if you don’t own a shop yourself and want one, go pester your local toy store to get these fantastic new figures in stock! Stop the dull monotony of the same artists and companies releasing similar toys over and over, get some original design in your collection!

iLLUMINIODS – new resin figure from Porlzilla
Porl of Porlzilla, the creator or Ozzels is back with his latest resin figures, the iLLUMINOIDS. The great thing about iLLUMINOIDS is that they use recycled Gocco bulbs, so they not only look great but they’re doing their small bit for the environment too!
“The little iLLUMINOIDS are created in pairs from a simple spark of life when someone makes a screen using a gocco printer. Not happy simply being thrown in the bin once their jobs were done they’ve set out to make a name for their little selves in the big wide world. Shame the one spark in their heads has been and gone, the little blighters are pretty dim now!”
Each iLLUMINOIDS has a resin body and a head of a used gocco bulb. Each bulb crackles and mottles differently each time so each iLLUMINOID is an individual.
They are £14.99 and for that you get 2 iLLUMINOIDS, one tourist and his guide-bot who will help him on his adventures. And a handmade iLLUMINOID pin-badge in a hand gocco printed box.
Available now from the Porlzilla Ozzelorium!
Deinos from Bard Vandal!
Once again we have discovered a fantastic new hand-made resin figure for your viewing pleasure! Deinos are the creation of Norwegian designer Bard Vandal. So far there are 5 colours of Deinos (the purple and blacks being my favourites), and 5 of each colour planned for production.
The first batch of Deinos will be released and sold at Bard’s solo show called the “The Birth of Deinos” which will be in New York on the 14-17th of July at Ouchi Gallery. And this will be the only chance to get a hold of a Deino for a couple of months, so if you want to grab one before anyone else be sure to get down to the show!
* twistable head
* sculpted in Maya on a Mac
* printed on a Eden 260V PolyJet 3d-printer
* molded and cast in a kitchen in Norway
* hand-painted
* official product of the dark lord*

The Bristol Museum Vs Bansky
Banksy, a pioneer in modern art pushing the boundaries with his combination of graffiti and fine art poking fun and making policatal statements – the great artist of our time….or supremely over-rated? Whichever side you take you can’t deny Banksy’s work has done a great deal for art in our generation, bringing the acceptance of graffiti as a real form of art and causing much debate and controversy. Banksy is now, at least here in the UK, a household name.
The story goes, as I’m sure you have all heard, that the museum was closed for a day and all staff sent home, and in secret Banksy was brought in to install his works in secret and ended up wreaking his trademark style havoc across the entire building. So is it really all that much? Or is it just a few stencils here and there? Well, it’s actually a surprisingly large quantity of work hidden across every single room of the museums 3 floors along with the actual exhibiton in the gallery, the animatronic work from his ‘Pet Shop’ in the states brought over and filling the main hall, and an anarchic setup in the entrance hall.
Treeson & Other Stories new mini series from Crazy Label
Crazy Label always seem to please with their releases, espcially with the lovable Treeson by Bubi Au Yeung, and this new mini series is no exception! Unlike other Treeson releases this series focusses not only on the big feller but on the other characters from the stories including Ren and Newspaper Boy to name a couple.
The series will be blindbox style and is set to be released at Tapei Toy Festival 2009!
