Until last Wednesday I wasn’t even aware this print was being produced, it was only when I saw @Jumbola tweeting
“Really looking forward to the @peskimo prints going on sale at the @renmenproject shop this Friday http://bit.ly/dkZkLx“
I clicked on the link and thought “Wow Peskimo?! I need to get one of those! What’s the Renmen Project though?” Then I found out ..
“‘Renmen’ (pronounced ‘rainmain’) is the Haitian word for Love, the bird in the logo is the Hispaniolan Trogon, the national bird of Haiti. ‘The Renmen Project‘ has been brought together by the team atThunder Chunky and Ben The Illustrator in order to raise funds for UNICEF’s Haiti Earthquake Children’s Appeal.”

Featuring two Peskimo style Hispaniolan Trogon birds sitting in the trees, the print is full of vibrant and vivid colours, it reminds me of their Bamboozoo vinyl toy set! The prints are A3 sized, signed and numbered by the artist and they even printed them in their own studio! It was a limited run of only 16 and there was a lot of interest in the build up to it’s release, so getting one of these was going to be tough, then the time of release was tweeted,
@RenmenProject: “It’s all going crazy at 12 o’clock today! Be ready!”
I waited. Constantly refreshing the page until suddenly the “Add to Cart” button appeared! I was clicking as fast as I could to get to the PayPal checkout so I could claim mine but thought I was too late, but NO my order was processed! YES! They were sold out in 7 minutes and all the proceeds went to a very good cause UNICEF’s Haiti Earthquake Children’s Appeal.
Now I’m just waiting by the front door for the postman to arrive!
