Furi Furi are back on the toy scene and dancing with the devil… a mischievous devil. Meet VIL THE DEVIL, a character from the Girls Power manifesto series.

DEVIL’S SWEET SMILE will take place at Pixie in Taipei from 11th May until the 3rd June 2007. Expect lots of evil goodness from the Furi Furi team: original artwork, screen-prints, photographs, sculpture.

The exhibition launch takes in 2 events, firstly is the opening party on Friday 11th May from 8PM – 10PM. Then on the following day (Saturday 12th) from 4PM – 6PM the Furi Furi team will be activly live painting and available for signings. If you go to the opening party you’ll be able to grab a free fan to waft away the heat!

Plus we can reveal the development of a very nice looking, soon to be launched, toy of VIL. Shown here are the sculpt prototypes.

Monster Burp @ G3 view

Here are a few photos from Lazy Oaf’s Monster Burp show at G3, London. It took a while to get around to putting them up so enjoy them here or head over to G3 (around the corner from Playlounge) before the show closes on April 27th.

Which leads us nicely on to Peskimo’s entry in the show, a mighty gocco print. Limited edition deisgned especially for Monster Burp and available online at the Peskimo shop. You can get one delivered to your front door for as little as £6 – you even get to choose the colour of paper it is printed on (choice of four types available).

VA sneaked a peek at the early stages of set-up for the show – so much goodness in one place:

Gallery Nineteen Eighty Eight, 7020 Melrose Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90038.

Untitled

Attaboy + Annie Owens

The Gallery At Screen Arts Presents Swarmy Weather, and exhibition of Annie Owens and Attaboy’s latest creations. On Friday April 6th the show kicks off with an opening reception (6pm -midnight). The exhibition runs until April 30, 2007.

Expect to be waist deep in murky water surrounded by creatures with teeth and girls on choppers and everything in between. Suitably located in one of America’s oldest and humid cities, St. Augustine, Florida. The city is a picturesque scene of children floating downstream – their houses overcome by the floods as mosquitos and winged insects swarm, sometimes underwater. The art represents pretty much the same.

AttaBoy will be in attendance at the show so please pop along to meet him, eat some snacks and drink some cheap beer while you’re at it. The Gallery At Screen Arts, 228 W. King Street, St. Augustine, FL 32084

Atta and Annie are the powers behind Hi-Fructose magazine.
