Exhibition

Michael Lau @ dpmhi

Mr.Shoe Shop (Sample) Exhibition

A massive collection of Mr Shoes, customised in all manner of ways, kicked off last night at dpmhi, London.

Not a huge crowd, but plenty big enough to make for a relaxing viewing and gathering.

Michael Lau was in attendance – here he is being given something by James from triclops.

Plenty of free beer meant the show went on long past its official close time.

Custom 12″ Vinyl

Wear-it-with-pride, started a new project not long ago… they had to customise 12″ vinyl, similar to the project ourselves and Future Plastik are working on. Some of the artists that worked on the 12″ vinyl for wear-it-with-pride included Jon Burgerman, TADO and the almighty Superdeux. Check out more information at

Sarah Lucas at Tate Liverpool

Ok, so she isn’t everybodies cup of tea, but in my opinion She is one of the only remaining YBA’s who still produces great work.

Her new solo exhibition at the Tate Liverpool is the first of it’s kind in the UK.

I made the trip to Liverpool on Sunday to check it out, and I really do recommend it! If I remember rightly, there were 4 large rooms dedicated to the exhibition, so there is quite a collection of work there!

‘Bare Bones’ at the Cornerhouse – 13th Oct to 6th Nov

Bare Bones: Drawings and puppets from Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride

On show are a selection of puppets and drawings used in the making of Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. Throughout the cafe, cinema and main foyer are prints of Burton’s early conceptual sketches as well as the detailed character development drawings produced by Carlos Grangel. These are accompanied by no less than 18 puppets, all made by Manchester-based puppet makers Mackinnon & Saunders. Amongst these are a few wire armature skeletons. The show is also accompanied by a ‘making of the corpse bride’ film.

I had a quick browse of the show on Friday, and it really is the most amazing experience. For those of you 2 or 3 hours away from Manchester, it’s really well worth the journey.

Doodlebug 2005

The streets, or should I say, windows of Manchester will no longer be the same! The windows of the Cornerhouse gallery/cinema are now packed with doodles, making it look like Christmas has come early!

The oh-so-busy Mike and Katie have been at it again! This time they’ve treated us to a 9ft high window display! Bootyful I say! If you’re in the area, then it’s well worth a visit, the walls of the Cornerhouse cafe are also crammed with art by locals such as Lynsey Casson.
